Just wondering why USCIS gave me a date for Biometics? May be I didn't have my fingerprints taken while I enter USA almost 9-10 yrs ago or may be I applied too many OPT (lol) or may be I'm in trouble. Just wanted to know if you guys went through it. My last two OPTs didn't require fingerprints except this one. This is the OPT after my Masters. Also, does Biometrics cost any money? I think $340 for EAD is already too much. Need some feedback, people. Thanks.

I saw in the forums, if you e-file your OPT they ask for fingerprint. For paper based application they don't ask for it.

if you call USCIS, the lower level employees who pick up the phone will tell you that you need to be scheduled for fingerprints; which is unnecessary. if you ask to talk to their supervisor and explain clearly that you are applying for OPT and not EAD for green card then they will get the point. i was almost scheduled for fingerprints but then i talked with supervisor.
