I rented the commercial car from Payless rental.Unfortunately we got an accident(we hit a dear). Regarding Insurance, I paid for all except CDW(calim damage waiver)since I used American express to pay the rent and American express is supposed to cover the insurance. American express paid the amount claimed by the car rental company. However some of the expenses like administrative expenses and loss of use haven't paid yet, since car rental company didn't provide the supporting documents for that though American express is willing to pay that in the presents of doccuments. when I talked to car rental company they said they are not able to provide those documents due to their company policy. Now they have sent this case to collection agency and I got call from them. They threated me to take a legal action. In this case,How I would be able to take care this?.P.S.-American express is still ready to pay for this, if they provide supporting documents.

i think you need to talk to the company directly not collection. Tell them to send the bill to american express and explain that they are paying for th loss of uses and administration fee also. may be you are talking to collection dept. only because they do that becoz their concern is to get money from you. i hope you can settle down the dispute else find a lawyer and get a copy from american express which states that amex is ready to pay for loss of uses and admin fee. i think you might need to talk to the someone who is highly authorise to deal with it.
have a good luck!

I talked to rental car company earlier. But they are not provding documents to American Express saying that is against their company policy. when I aksed for company policy to look at, they didn't provide that either. They said that contain proprietory information so they can't.
No I don't have my own car.
Now collection agency is calling then and now. Any wayout????

Yakima, did it happen by any chance at the yakima valley in WA? I'm sure the car rental company does this all the time whenever people get into an accident, probably a loophole to make extra money out of innocent people. You should look online for users and forum where people have gone through accidents like yours, you're not the first one to experience this. If you have all the paper trails, you can also contact the local newspaper and TV station, they might help( might). If nothing works, then get a lawyer. Period.

well i think you need to contact the car rental company and ask for the copy of invoice that shows the catagorized charges of loss of uses and adminstrative mentioning your name and details and provide the copy the american express and then check how it works otherwise you may need to defend yourself asking your rights to see the details of charges. make sure they may increase the charges and also make sure that they have not rented out the car. because they may have charged you also and at the same time they may have put the car on rent. loss of uses is only those days when they were unable to rented out the car. i think you need to find a good lawyer as well.

If they can not provide the invoice then they can get money. If that is their policy then no money to rental.
If they send it to collection bring it to small claim court. Have to pay 35-50 plus 15-25 dollars administrative fees. You will win, because your AAA is willing to pay but they can not give you the itemize invoice then denied by AAA.
May be you try to talk to the upper level may be corporate level and tell them what happend.
Have to show you the detail catagorised charges, take them to small claim court.

BEST ADVICE...........get your self a lawyer. because this seems fishy from the start. they want money you have a willing party to pay for it if they provide docs. But they are reluctant. SO get a lawyer or try www.troubleshooter.com hope this helps. Be agressive.
or report directly to http://www.troubleshooter.com/reportdispute.php

Once it goes to Collection agency, they will keep bugging you. Tell them I am working on it. Do not call me and what ever you have to send , do it by mail. They will tell you any thing to collect from you.
DO not worry, any way your credit history is ruined. Now it does not matter until it is solved or paid fully.

Thank you Guys,
It is initial stage, Collection agency has inquired my credit history only. So far there is no problem with credit history. Do you guys have any idea about the lawyer to be contacted. This incident has taken place in Minneapolis. It would be great to get lawyer from Minneapolis.
I really appreciate the valuable advice from you guys.
Thanks
