Well i watch nepali comedies may be once a month.....but....among all (like tito satya and few others) I like this, not because its really funny but it shows the real nepali people how they dress and what they do and indulge in......the costumes they wear is really what people in village (nearly 80 % of nepali) wear....It has more originality.......
Like others I agree Mangne Budho is much funnier than these dudes.........
Thank god there are these serials otherwise we wont be having anything called nepali shows to watch....

dhanyabad for exploring the quality of Meri-Basssai. For your kind information I also watch these shows every week. What I am saying is there are some episodes in which these programs do not have good story, but overacting. It does not necessarily mean that they have to have something like that, but it should contain something worth to watch.
Its true that that these shows makes someone happy provided that limited resources, but it does not mean that you put up anything either its good or not.
talking about the episodes when that "Magne Buda" was minister he kept saying tudun tudun dis...if you could elaborate the comic act on that then that would be great. I simply love these shows but some episodes. 

for us people...the educated few , the modern few know the difference of acting good and bad coz we have seen other choices, better quality comics etc....what is the ratio in Nepal now? I mean in education...poor and rich......... Ya we educated people with sophisticated taste might find these acting a bit over the top.....but you guys forget 80% of Nepali people are poor and watch these comedy shows  with  nothing to compare, may be some indian tv but these comics can make a lot of underprivileged laugh.  All im trying to say is that we can judge this and judge that cuz we can compare and choose.....what about the rest? try telling those people the difference. We can see it and yes you guys are true, the acting is like forced comedy....but why call them RETARDS?????

Well, seriously, isn't the performance retarded?  High pitch, extra loud, forced voice with over the top acting.  Unless they are pretending to be a couple who are mentally disadvantaged, I just did not find it funny.

@Chamatkar:  How does posting an opinion on the show that is in public domain relate to my having an American degree and living in the US?  Why should I be beholden to teach Meri Bassai Toli their job?  If they are professional, and I am sure they are, they should elevate their comedies enough to attract and win approval of viewers, not the other way around.  Art requires criticism, not just "wah - wah" blind applause. 

I have to admit I am not a regular viewer of Nepali shows.  There's a reason for that.  I just don't think most dramas, comedies made in our motherland up to par.  This is the same reason I watch very few Hindi movies.  Most of the stuff that come out are just not good enough for me to spend my precious time.  If that makes me highfalutin snob, so be it.

I am sure there are few actors who actually do very good job.  And I do not want to disrespect them by being patronizing and feed the crap of "hernu parcha, naramro bhaye pani, to support Nepal's art culture."

Someone mentioned 80% vs 20% above. What amazes me how come there are no shows to meet the expectations of the 20%. Does the every show need to cater the majority 80%.

It is also true that most of our viewers are not intelligent enough decipher complex scripts (patakatha)

I still remember from long back, we were watching pakistani serial at home and at the end of one of the episode...it shows an empty bird cage with the door open....(the story was around a young girl, who wants to escape the strong muslim rules). The next episode started without linking or narrating the flee ...thanks to us our father explained to us at the end of prior eposide the girl had ran away...but for most at school it was a total mystry until the middle of next episode.

I have also noticed, how scripts are catered as if all the audienes are bunch of 7 years old...explaining every little detail...for eg...if the sun sets three characters will announce the sun set.

 I guess, I will be allowed to have my opinion. I dislike these serials which introduce bad culture to the community. They speak so loud giving the false impression that our language is rude. Yes, our people are poor and uneducated, but they can have better. These people are giving cheap comedy and with the most of the stories that make no sense, and often overlapping of many of stories from their peers such as tito satya and jire khursani. I should say hijo ajaaka kura is standing the best and is trying to educate the people with good stories and satire and comedy. I should also add that I despise their interviews in which they act so arrogantly. I couldn't understand why they need to get the message from the prime minister of country during their special celebration episode. They bootlick the politicians in real life (reflected by their message from political leader during their episodes) whom they satire during their telecast showing the hypocrisy of their own character.

ekdum tauko dukhaune khalko clip....thats not comedy...thats annoyance! only MAHA jodi can make ppl laugh ... others can try you may find this funny if you like seein monkey tied by rope performing a Chatak...

 Are you trying to say that these shows are making you laugh. OK I might agree with you on  that but only on some case. 

It does not necessarily mean that if they cannot make a good episodes, we need to go there and teach them how to make one. I am not a expert on that one and I don't have any interest on doing that. I am just trying to say anything cannot just make people laugh.(jabarjasti kaukuti lagaune ho kya ho")  May be it is good for our people who wants to have fun watching  "sindhuli gadi lets go body she is the bomb"  Is that what makes you laugh?. 

These shows are retarded.

Its not about getting against the show. I already said that I do watch these show but what frustrates me is that unnecessary acts or overacting and weird stories. That makes these episodes worthless and waste of time. If you want to have fun watching these shows go ahead no one is against you or your shows. There are number of shows "tito Satya", "jire Khursani", "meri Bassai" but they do not have quality.

 OK if they are popular and can make people laugh then they shouldn't go out in public and say we are the best. If a actor or a program is not nominated for a award or a ceremony then is it good to go against the jury and boycott the award function.

P.s I do not know what that award function was about but I know that for sure, they didn't got nominated because they were not good at it.
