First: The flight passenger will receive your items at a address (we verify that) and payment info is also needed (we verify that).
But yes, fraud and scam can be there. We are personally screening every possible triggering event in these early days to make system trustworthy. Plus we give 100% insurance for all items (that's why cost factor went little high now - we'll lower the price later).

This is a good idea and people have used similar avenue albeit through someone they know personally. I had thought about similar idea. However, one challenge that I see in this regard, although you business is very new, is the safety or guarantee of item/s shipped as well as safety of a person taking the item and/or receiver.

For this, what you can do is open a local office in Kathmandu and other popular places like Pokhara, Chitwan, etc. where Nepali receivers can collect their item/s rather than people going to meet like if you are buying off of Hamrobazar.com. This entails that you hire local employees in Nepal and separate expenses for offices. If you do business in volume then that is not an issue.

I hope you get my point.

@jerryswari - We have POC in Kathmandu only as of now. We collect all items at Baggage claim area and sort it out for pick up or distribution. We provide 100% insurance to all valid items as of now (so we have limitations on items that can be sent). Safety is also guaranteed with soft background check since we collect shipping address and bank details of flight passenger. We will improve our service as we grow.

I really like this idea which is beneficial to both the sender and the traveler (transporter). We get to send stuff to our loved ones and the person traveling gets to make some money. However I have one question. How do you protect a person carrying packages from being made to carry restricted goods from people with ill intention and putting the traveler in trouble. Lets say I decided to carry somebody's laptop to make a small amount and the person whom I received the laptop from had decided to put restricted substance inside the casing. I know this is far fetched scenario but there is always a possibility. So how is a traveler protected?

@AmbrosiaD -How do you protect a person carrying packages ??
We are extremely serious about this issue. To ensure, flight passenger's safety - we only encourage them to accept package through USPS in USA (it goes under federal level screening) and if it's hand over package (mostly in Nepal), flight passengers can request package-owner to unpack and the flight passenger get final decision right without any penalty in their profile.
This prevents 99.99% of fraud in shipping packages. We are making every efforts to make this secure, smooth and fast.

You did not mentioned about custom , this is another area where officers mint money. How do you handle this?
Let's talk about an iPhone 6, I bought on sale just for 100, do I have to pay custom on it or not, how do you handle it ? The custom people's eyes are on such parcels.

@magorkhe1 what about custom?
To make Hoolaki system smooth, safe and effective --> We have strictly implemented TSA rules on all product submitted in our portal. Further we have limited $1000 item value, 2lbs and 1000 cubic inches per delivery. All items delivered through Hoolaki are gifts and have no commercial purpose. This way we are trying to cope up with custom rules.
In case of any custom duty charged on items, flight passengers will pay it and they will be refunded after charging the item owner (the system is similar to Uber when Toll payment is required).

@sojhoketo can i be an investor?
We are really excited to get such kind of feedback from you. But unfortunately, we are not looking for investor at this point. However, we are actively searching Franchise Hoolaki partner based on central location (USA/Nepal) who can manage the delivery flow. And we are in really early stage to define Franchise partner. Please send us about you and your proposal in our email (support@hoolaki.com). We can be in touch and collaborate in many possible ways.
