I paid landlocked travel agency / ticket2nepal travel agency for couple tickets from KTM to US and they sent me the confirmed tickets however now I found out that the ticket was just a reservation not an actual ticket. Is this travel agency a scam? Regardless, I am spending a lot of time trying to contact the numbers here in the US and Nepal as well, none seem to be working, my emails are unanswered. I am at a point where I am thinking about suing this business. Any suggestions? Does anyone know who the actual owner of this company/ contact info other than what is listed on their website? Please help me out with whatever information you may have. Thanks!

I did come across Landlord travel while I was searching for cheap flight to Nepal. After reading many negative reviews about Landlord travel I purchased through airlines website directly. http://sajha.com/sajha/html/index.cfm?threadid=87864

The first thing before suing and going thru a lengthy process is to call ur credit card company and dispute the charge mentioning the reason. Most credit card companies will offer that protection from shoddy businesses and will refund ur money and will then get in touch with the merchant to get their money back (provided they find wat u said abt the merchant iis true) Therafter think of suing if needed in small court claim.

Hope you paid using your CC. If that's the case then you need not worry. Just call up your cc company. No point wasting your time and energy dragging them to court et al.

I am hoping that I do not have to go through that route but if I need to then I will as I am in a legal field myself. Unfortunately it was a bank to bank money transfer not a credit card transaction which was requested by them. Hoping that they will respond positively ASAP. BTW, these are the people involved with this company; anyone has any details on them? I would at least like to them directly since their main number is not working? Why don't people do a little bit a google before doing anything?. There are tons of warning about this company in sajha Again, I have only one suggestion and please follow it strictly DO NOT BUY TICKET FROM LANDLOCKED TRAVEL. They should be jailed for conducting such kind of pathetic business.

I feel sorry for you but then I dont! You claim to be in legal field and have the arrogance to take them to the court if the need arises but are very naive about financial transactions. What were you thinking when they "requested" to send money from bank? No ethical transparent business would ask for money through bank transfer. This should have been the red flag for you and despite being a legal professional you did not see it. When you got the reservation number for the tickets, why would you not go to the airline's website or call them to make sure that your reservation was CONFIRMED and not just RESERVED? Where's the due diligence on your part? Now, all you can do is what you have claimed to do - file a case against them! Honestly, I don't know if this will do anything better than maybe bring you closure and possibly issue a warrant for fraud. I hope this case is a lesson learned for you and rest of our fellow brothers and sisters who trust fellow country men too easily and too much. Nonetheless, go ahead and file a case against them and serve them justice since what they did to you was wrong and illegal. Good Luck

Thank you for your response and it’s a shame on my part that I got lured into this trap even after being in a legal field. Yes! Transferring money was a bad idea however I had done the same thing with them in the past. I never thought that one of our people would do something like this. You are right from every angle and I was naive to have done what they asked me to do. I did check the reservation which was valid, reserved and confirmed. They issued the paperwork with ticket number as well. This later on turned out to be a made up ticket number and paperwork. It now seems like these people are conducting from other than US and I have gotten several emails with their possible information as well as pictures. This is definitely going to the right direction. It’s just a matter of time, I will have case filed here and in Nepal as well so whenever they surface that will be their time to pay. Trust me; I will bring them to justice even if I have to spend another $2700. Sajha users please keep on sending me their information and current pictures. Usauk2008@gmail.com

I hope this is not a confusion. I recently bought round-trip tickets from landlocked travels from US to Nepal, and I am in Nepal now with that ticket. I had no issues contacting them and had no problems with my tickets.
Matahoni - I am a bit curious when you say that they got you reservation and not actual ticket. What do you mean? The airlines only makes the reservation anyways. You get the boarding pass (if that is what you mean by actual tickets) when you go to the airport on the day of travel. Were your reservations cancelled without notifying you? How did you even know if the reservations were invalid? Did you go to the airport on the way of the travel and they turned you back?
Just want to add that I have no vested interest in defending Landlocked travels. But I have been their costumer and I want to make sure they don't get lynched due to some confusion.

wow this is very interesting and just was about to book a ticket from them somehow I stumble upon this post. My question to cardinal since you are already a legit member and the price they quoted is perfect so regardless of whatever is going on I would love to go with them. Can you please email me the POC (Point of contact) with whom you are in touch with and their reliable cell number so that I can converse with them when needed. Couple of my friends have suggested me to go with them and I am from New york and these guys seems to have office at New york so I would be much comfortable to go with them when they are in my Hometown and moreover my few very close friends never had any issue with these guys but still need to taste the water before I inverst so much of my hard earned Dinero!!!!!! Here is my email id. shoenilgurung@gmail.com.

Giordana as far as i know their ad was removed from sajha 3 or 4 years back because of such complaints. You may be confusing some other ad as theirs. Please verify your request.

Cardianl, I did buy tickets from them the same way (money transfer) a few years back and there was no problem at all. Hence, I didn’t think twice when I paid them this time. If you can contact them and get this straightened out then that would be the easy way out for everyone involved. About my reservation, they booked and confirmed the tickets. Once I paid them, they sent me an itinerary with eticket number on it. After a few days, I logged into the airline website to see/select the sets and found out that the reservation/ booking was cancelled. I called the airlines and gave them the ticket number; they confirmed that the given ticket numbers were made up/ fraudulent. My booking was cancelled because the agency never issued etickets. I was asked to contact the agency by the airlines which I did with negative results. Obamaputin, please email me if it works for you that way I could resolve this with them. Usauk2008@gmail.com Jsa7811@gmail.com Once again, thank you for all the information that you all have sent to my email and wish to stay anonymous. I definitely have enough now to go forward legally if needed. Please keep on sending information on ticket2nepal and landlocked travel agency as well as info on the people listed above.

@ Neo Bro
OP said "I paid landlocked travel agency / ticket2nepal travel agency for couple tickets"
I can still see their ad flashing at the front page of Sajha. Correct me if I am wrong.

Giordano. Many people have had problems with Landlocked Travel and it was due to such complaints that their paying ad was removed from sajha about 3 - 4 years ago to protect sajha visitors from any inconvenience. It may be an oversight on your part but it should not be confused with Nepal Travels who use a similar domain name of tickets2nepal. Although the difference is one small letter like you pointed out, it's a totally different company who have been operating in a fair and good way, and they should not be penalized in any way by mistaking it for another company with questionable practices. Happy Holidays, it definitely gets chilled at this time of the year :)

obamaputin - the number I have is no different from the one matahoni has posted earlier. I did get better contact and reception when I called at the 347 number than the 888 number.
Also, in the e-ticket they provided, they also had the contact info for their Kathmandu office. Maybe it is worth calling them there:
Phone: + 977 1 4249196, +977 1 4249008
Email: ktm@ticket2nepal.com, info@ticket2nepal.com
Goodlcuk!
