Je was never happy with his family there after and never met him face to face.

People tought King Gyanendra to be smart and practical. He has, in my opinion, proven to be deluded and self-destructive. As I have said elsewhere, the republican train has left the station. Even if there is a compromise this time, and I hope there isn't, Monarchy is unlikely to sustain itself in Nepal for long - even in a ceremonious capacity given the reputation of the current and to-be King.
