In Nepal. there is no use of royal army. They are, infact as per name, servant of only palace. They are not necessary for Nepali people at any case. Instead, they are killing Nepali people either they are being Maoist or general people. In other hand, they cannot fight with other foreign forces (for example India and China) for even one day. So, what is the use of them? They are just wasting Nepali tax payers' money for doing gulami to King and his santans (kins), but not people. I think for internal security, general police (janapad) and Riot police (Sasastra police) will be more than enough. So, scrap (dissolve) the royal army and strengthen Sasatra prahari bal. I open the floor for discussion more.

Right on thulobabu,

Its feeble and it serves no particular purpose. Its job (whatever it is) can easily be performed with any other entity of its like. Its just wasting our precious yarn when we have to clothe or shelter it. So, lets all chop off our pinkies!!!

For a soverign country, army is definately needed. but the army shouldn't be under the command of a family or a group of elite, it should rather should be under the national government that's by the people and for the people.

I think Army is necessary, but it should be

(a) under the control of democratically elected government, not monarch - constitutional or absolute.

(b) reduced in size appropriate to Nepal's needs.

(c) with mandate that actually forces it to serve Nepali citizen and world's needs (peacekeeping - should be the prominent duties).
