so I currently completed my bachelors in Computer Science from a university. My GPA is 2.9 major GPA is 2.8. Took about 7 years and some months to complete. never out of status.
I applied OPT and is on process.(been 2 month). I already have a job offer for a full time position. this is not a agency job. the job was direct contact and call by the company and I have all required knowledge for the job. The job is not starting until april15th. I am planing to go to nepal and have to reapply for visa... has anyone gone through similar situation. what kind of question will be asked? what are the chances for me not getting the visa.? please help me prepare myself. I am leavin in febuary (after the OPT is approved) for 2 month since there is nothing for me to do until my job starts here in US beside stay home most times.

I highly doubt anybody will be able to tell you anything resounding in regards to your chances. A fortune teller might be able to disclose something but I wouldn't count on him/her.
H-1 visa should be a standard procedure for you. You might be asked standard questions like why it took you so long to graduate but since you've maintained your status throughout, you should be good. Just prepare all necessary documents and you're all set.

Hi riddle,
the stuff about fortune teller is fairy tale. lets not bring it into reality :)
I do have plans to gather all documents and try to make it strong... but with more cases senario ppl had with OPT and visa renewal it will increase my visual power to think how to prepare. I am also glad that I was never out of status and i was in the same university throughout.
my aim is to get as much real senario experiences as I can gather from wide range of people going to nepal and their visa experiences and prepare with it.

The risk of denial for a F-1 visa renewal when you are on OPT is higher than while you are in your active student program. Why don't you wait until April and do h1 on PP and then you can travel. I would not advise travelling on OPT with an expired visa.

If I were you, I would not take a chance. The EAD card that comes with your OPT approval clearly states "it doesn't warranty your reentry to the states". F1 extension stamping for OPT from Nepal is not a very safe route. If I had to put myself in your shoes, I would ask for my employer to apply for H1B after I start the work in April. Once I get H1B approval notice, I would go Nepal in December and come back with H1B stamped.

My bad. I thought you were going to apply for H-1 visa.
Re: fortune teller. You asked for a chance but I highly doubt anybody can tell you how good/bad your chances truly are. I mean, we've seen some mantri and businessman's child being rejected a visa to the US while someone belonging to a poor family has gotten his/her.
Good luck.

I am going to take a risk and go. I have been her enough and the company said they want me to work for them and will support. Thats a good point.
I just want to know real senairo where ppl go to nepal and interview for f1 visa renewal.. what type of question are being asked.? what they look for and what they want to see? if any one know or their friends know please provide some inputs here..

Better be safe than sorry. Don't leave US until you get your H visa, or at least until you start working. Your company might support you but they won't be able to do a jack if you get denied by US embassy in nepal, or DHS at the POE.
