So, from previous threads here are the rankings for this year's ANA Basketball: 1. DC - the reigning champions 2. Dallas - the first runner up 3. Boston 4. New York Are there any other teams participating this year? What about the Bay Area team with the twins.

Ballar, this year's ANA is gonna be wide open (even more than a hooker's you know what below). A lotta teams with budding talent and as per sources, last year's winners, DH may not have the same team. This makes me ponder upon a scenario where we may find 2 or more diamonds in the rough, So far, my faves are MMC especially after the All US Tibetan B-Ball Tourney in which these cats lost in double OT even though their main man was in CA (they have real good new recruits). DC, the veterans are a team to watch out for...Underrated but never Underperforming! Finally, NY as always has way too much talent but a heart too small for their size. As for the regulars, Dallas ain't too bad either and DH (with or without the same team) would defn be a force to reckon with.

Samsara, you love crediting DC don't you... Dont know if you saw the games, but all they do is foul and hit a few lucky 3-pointers... I don't think there is one guy on that team that has a concept of what defense is... I think their whole team fouled out last year... lol...
As for New York and MMC teams... why such excitement for MMC when NYNYC was beating their asses on a regular basis during pickup games?

Sleepysur!!
When did u beat MMC's ass off ?? I am always there watching them play... You might have won one or two games.... tough comptetitive ones!!!.. But I still remember them once sweeping NYNYC with a clear margin ofatleast 5 to 8 scoring differences... ANd Stop bragging about NYNYC.... I do respect you guys.. You have a good team.. but just don't lie about something you haven't actually done... Well Bro.. If you want another shot, just ask for it... i guess they will b ready to test you guys this year too.... before the ANA kicks off... Good Luck!!!

Looks like it struck a nerve... just stating the facts.. in my opinion the only reason nynyc loses in ANA is because everyone is more concerned about soccer....
Either way, with mmc, the tibetan team and nynyc... they go back n forth... all i m saying is, why say mmc this and mmc that, when nynyc is pretty evenly matched with them...

Sleepy, yeah DC is a team that have proven themselves time and again...I respect them for the vets. I'd still never underestimate these guys. BTW, whats up with you and those "lucky" 3 pointers? LOLs
And yeah, about the whole MMC and NYNYC thing...When did NYNYC beat the cats at MMC? They haven't been playing against each other at all. It has only been a year since MMC has finally started playing well together (though they all are fantastic individual players). Listen, the reason I'm betting my ranch on MMC this ANA is that they have 3 new recruits who were not in the last 2 ANAs. Two of the recruits are above 6' 3" and watching them dunk during practices is a sight to behold...Though solely dunking does not win games, but to have these cats who rebound, shoot and make their inside presence felt would make a helluva lotta difference for sho playing against opponents who are 5'8" (some even shorter). They have guys who can shoot, a point-guard (who is so damn good that kids at the park say he has black in him) and they each have a heart the size of a football. LOLs This year, ladies and gentlemen, look out for the first ANA dunk!

For a Nepali to have a little black in him? Man, is that supposed to be a complement. Normally, I agree with most of the stuff you write... And, the heart the size of a football.. thats very impressive...
I guess the "black" and "football heart" really do make these guys the favorites!

Sleepy, these cats are indeed good as fugck! If you missed the All US Tibetan Basketball tourney last year in NYC, you missed out on the MMC team which in its first year lost in the Finals in double OT (and their main player was in CA). BTW, in case you still are unaware and living under a rock, the Tibetan tourney has more depth and competiton than the ANA. This I can guarantee anyday...DC when ANA chaps took part in this competition but always end up bowing out in the Semis. Listen man, you need to get in touch with the Nep/Tib (Himalayan) basketball scenario thats happening all over the US rather than just make your assumptions based outta some town where there prolly is not a single Nep/Tib baller. Enuff talk, lets watch and see what unfolds at the ANA (along with the party brawls, a tradition that has to be 'upkept' by the tru NYC G's).

Well, I guess you got me convinced. I dont know skill wise, but they play real hard...
So tell me, what is this I hear... that Dallas is not playing this year?
Also, stop bragging about the brawling abilities of ny'ers... I think it is unfair to generalize like that... and its definitely nothing to be proud of...

The Dallas team is prolly scared that they'd get rolled upon once they get to Baltimore (because of the last ANA where they were pounded to bits after the party). LOLs BTW, as far as I heard, its all forgotten and IMO, it would be great to have Dallas over too. They have a decent squad except they try too hard to be Gs when they're actually not. They need to leave the brawls to the professionals and solely concentrate on being ballers.
