What do you say looking at these banner hung at core places in capital city of Nepal??

I am going back to nepal in 1st week of april and will spend XXXXX NRS to create banner like this.

Yo ta aati bhayo desh khattam bhayo

केही सक्रियता देखाउने, सामाजिक-राजनैतिक मुद्धामा केही योगदान गर्न चाहने युवाहरुको उत्साहलाई सलाम छ । तर दुईचार कुरामा ध्यान नपुर्‍याए त्यस्तो सक्रियता खेर जाने कुरामा सावधानी जताउने धृष्टता गर्दैछु है म, पूर्व क्षमायाचना सहित ।

1. Accountability and responsibility

बेनामी र लावारिश तुलहरु भन्दा कुनै सम्पर्क गर्न सकिने संगठीत समुह (पुरानो हुन जरुरी छैन, नयाँ भए पनि हुन्छ ) को नाममा राखेको सामाग्रीको प्रभाव बेसी हुन्छ । संगठनको अर्थ हो साहस, प्रतिवद्धता र जिम्मेवारी । बेनामी र बेवारिसे सामाग्रीको अर्थ हो डर, प्रतिवद्धताको अभाव र जिम्मेवारीबाट भाग्नु ।

2. Wisdom

सन्देशमा समाधान-उन्मुखता (solution-oriented) हुनुपर्छ । जस्तो सत्तोसराप र गुनासोमा सिमित सन्देशको भन्दा समाधानको मार्ग सुझाईएको सन्देशको मुल्य बढी हुन्छ ।

3. Consistency and Credibility

सक्रियतावादी व्यक्तिहरुले आफ्नो उद्देश्य अनुसारकै सक्रियता देखाएर credibility कमाउदै जानु पर्छ । जस्तो: पेट्रोलको जायज भाउ बढाउदा पुरै शहर डढाउदै हिड्ने गैरजिम्मेवार र मूर्ख युवाहरुलाई पेट्रोल सुलभ गराउने आन्दोलनको लागि कसरी पत्याउने ?

तराईका आन्दोलनकारी (UDMF) लाई शान्त पारेर तराई बन्दबाट उत्पन्न आपूर्ति व्यवधान हटेको भन्नुपर्‍यो 15 दिन नाघिसक्दा पनि साझाको गृहपृष्ठको दाहिने सिरानमा रहेको गुनासो तुलिका अझै पिलिक पिलिक पल्टिरहेको देख्दा मलाई कुनै परिकथाको त्यो करुण वीर-पुरुष (knight in his shining armor) को याद आउँछ जो पीडित नायिका (damsel) उनको कथाबाट अघि बढेर सामान्य जीवन बिताउदा पनि पीडकहरुसंग लडेको लडेई गरिरहन्छ ।

कसैले पढेको छ त्यस्तो कथा ?

आमिर खानको अलग-धारको फिल्म “राख” (1987) मा त्यस्तो क्षण छ । पीडित नायिका ‘निता’ (सुप्रिया पाठक) सामान्य जीवनतिर moved on भईसक्दा पनि कथाका नायक ‘अमिर हुसेन’ (आमिर खान) खलनायकहरुसंगको प्रतिशोध युद्धमा हुन्छन् ।

नेपाली उपभोक्ताहरु अभाव-महंगीलाई थाती राखेर चुनावको सरगर्मीमा समाहित भईसक्दा पनि साझाको गृहपृष्ठको गुनासो ऐकवद्धता जारी रहेको दृश्य कताकता त्यस्तै कारुणिक लाग्छ मलाई ।

I can't understand why everyone goes around bashing politicians when the root of the problem is us. I don't blame Makune or Girija or even Prachanda.

The government is a system that WE created for US. We're the largest part of it. When we are so apathetic about the actions of the government what right do we have to blame them when they take advantage of us?

I grew up in Nepal and have seen corruption first hand in front of my eyes in my home when people would come in to try and bribe my father. Now I know why I'm in the west because if my dad had corrupted himself, we wouldn't need to be here.

People, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. Stop being so incredulously ignorant. You blame about pollution yet you're the guy (if you recall) who loitered wherever the heck you wanted to in your recent trip to Kathmandu. You were the one who thought volunteering was useless and getting involved in the community was uncool. You are the one who thinks about you before anyone else. And what do you think these corrupt politicians are doing? They're thinking about themselves first too, JUST LIKE YOU!!

If WE don't show our elected leaders HOW to behave, they'll never learn. They do what we ask them to do. They hear our voices. If we're setting a bad example, they're just gonna copy it! And fix your own homes before you think about fixing your country. Get a job, stop going out protesting whenever you get the chance and destroying infrastructure because you don't have anything to do (since you sucked while at school because all you did was goofed around and now noone wants you). Take care of your parents and relatives, build a nice house, set an example to your ethnically/ racially/ religiously biased neighbour so HE can improve.

And speaking of Girija, I don't support him, nor do I hate him. But I do respect him. You can bash me all you want but you owe this country's democracy to, AMONG OTHERS, the three Koirala brothers. Have some respect folks!! I'd like to see you battle it out like he has. I know I can't.

संविधानसभा निर्वाचन मुखमा आइपुग्दा खाद्यवस्तुको मूल्य झन्डै दोब्बरका दरले  बढेको छ । दिनका दिन एकपछि अर्को वस्तुमा शृङखलाबद्ध मूल्यवृद्धि भइरहेको छ । एकै ठाउ“मा पनि प्रत्येक पसलपिच्छे सामग्रीको मूल्य फरक-फरक छ । उत्पादक होस् वा व्यवसायी दुवैले मनपरी ढङ्गले मूल्यवृद्धि गरेका छन् । अचम्मको कुरा त के छ भने यसरी एकाएक दैनिक अत्यावश्यक उपभोग्य वस्तुमा मनपरी ढङ्गबाट मूल्यवृद्धि भइरहे पनि सरोकारवाला भ्ाने किन मूल्यवृद्धि भएको हो, ठ्याक्कै बताउन सक्दैनन् । उनीहरू आफैं अनभिज्ञ छन् ।

Finally, the “Bhoktantra banner” is removed from Sajha Homepage !

I wonder how much positive vibe it must have generated during those 38 days of it’s display.

To me, the vibe was negative. It was too mundane, too uncreative, too unaware of the time and somewhat ill-intended.

The place should have taken by a banner related the election of Constituent Assembly.

It hardly needs to argue that the event is so historical that soon it will be written in every textbook of our children.

As I once joked elsewhere, years from now, our kids will be asking us about what we did during it.

Imagine, someone replying to his kid, “I sponsored for a Bhoktatntra banner in Sajha, dear”.
