Astrology is math.
Forget about your future. But how people can say about your past which really happened? that amazes me to date. I am an educated person. But I do believe in somethings unexplained by science.

ज्योतिष विज्ञानको दुइटा पक्ष छन् फलित ज्योतिष र गणित ज्योतिष ... गणित ज्योतिष वास्तवमा विज्ञाननै हो र यो अत्यन्त शक्तिशाली छ । फलित ज्योतिष गणित ज्योतिषको आधारमा अलि कमजोर देखिन्छ । कतिपय ज्योतिषहरुले गरेको भविष्यवाणी ठ्याक्क मिल्छ भने कतिले गरेको भविष्यवाणी मिल्दैन । एउटै व्यक्तिको चिना हेरेर फरक फरक ज्योतिषले फरक फरक भविष्यवाणी गर्छन् । शायद यो एउटै रोगीको लक्षणहरु हेरेर फरक फरक डाक्टरले फरक फरक रोगको शंका गरे जस्तै होला । यसमा गल्ती ज्योतिष शास्त्रको भन्दा पनि त्यसलाई व्याख्या गर्ने ज्योतिषीको हो । हुनत त आजभोली जन्मेका सबै मान्छेहरुको सही जन्मेको समय रेकर्ड गरिन्छ । तर हामी मध्ये धेरैको जन्मेको समयमा अलिकति तलमाथी पर्दा पनि त्यसबाट ग्रह नक्षत्रको स्थितीमा ठुलो फरक आउन सक्छ । पहिलेका ज्योतिषीहरुले गर्ने अर्को ठुलो गल्ती भनेको बेलाअन्तरको प्रयोग नगर्नु । पूर्व मेची देखी पश्चिम महाकाली भित्र ८ मिनेटको फरक छ । त्यसैले पूर्व नेपालमा र पश्चिम नेपालमा एउटै समयमा जन्मेका बच्चाहरुको पनि चिना चाँही एउटै हुन सक्दैन । तर यो कुराको हेक्का धेरै अघिसम्म गरिन्न थियो । फलित ज्योतिषको मूलाधार भनेको कुनै पनि व्यक्ति जन्मदाको ग्रह नक्षत्रको स्थिति नै हो । मैले नबुझेको कुरा चाँही यो ब्रह्मान्डमा भएका अनगिन्ती पिन्डहरु मध्ये किन केहीको मात्र प्रभाव रहन्छ हाम्रो जीवनमा ? किन सत्ताइस नक्षत्र मात्र? किन नौ वटा ग्रहमात्र ?

फलित ज्योतिष सम्पूर्ण रुपमै हावादारी हो भन्ने तर्कसँग म सहमत छैन । यसका केही कमीकमजोरीहरु पक्का पनि देखिएका छन् तर वैज्ञानीक आधारहरु पनि प्रशस्त छ । वास्तवमा भन्ने हो भन्ने वेद पूर्ण रुपमा वैज्ञानीक छ । यो मध्यकालिन युगमा जन्मेका हाम्रा धर्मग्रन्थहरुमात्र रुढीबादी धारणाले भरिएका छन् ।

I don't believe on palmisty since I never understood the logic behind that. An idea of choosing the dominant hand to predict future has not been able to convince me to date. But when we talk about "Graha" and "Dasha", we need to understand the logic and rules behind the locations of planets to believe in astrology. Astrology is basically mathematics. It is a prediction based upon the favorable and/or unfavorable positions of planets or similar planetary objects. I think it will be fair to compare astrology with science rather than compare it with anything else.

From my personal experience, I can tell astrology is a vast subject. I have been trying to learn just the basic rules of planets on my own since last three years. I never had that much interest on any of my engineering subjects the way I have on astrology. Even learning with so much interest, energy and enthusiasm, I had never experienced anything that tough to understand. I respect those astronomers who can calculate the longitude and latitude of the axis of the planets from thousand different angles and predict the future. But again, this is just my personal opinon.

 माथि बाघ दाइ ले धेरै हद सम्म स्पष्ट पारि सक्नु भयो . फलित ज्योतिष बिज्ञान अलि स्पष्ट नभए पनि त्यसका पनि आधार नभएका हैंनन . जन्मेको समय र स्थान  यदि सहि छ भने फलित ज्योतिष ले गर्ने भबिष्य बाणी र भूत को विश्लेषण सटिक हुने हुन्छ.

Predicting the future by calculating the position of heavenly bodies.... doesnt it sound weird.. Its like calcualting the depth of Koshi river by seeing the local wather forecast in Dallas NBC.

Astronomy is only for heavenly bodies. They are almost accurate for those bodies only. It doesnt matter  who started this calcualtion and when. I admire them for their effort and the science behind it. But, relating the impact of heavenly bodies in mans life in the time when man has already put his steps in Moon and some stupid toy called Curiosity playing with rocks of Mars, proves that u still have 3rd world hangover nomatter how you advocate yourself to be well eduated or westernized.

Dalle, I agree with you. It does sound wierd. But I wouldn't call it BS. You are accountable for your own thoughts and actions regarding what you believe is the fact and what is a man made story and so am I. You might have your own reason for not to believe on those and I respect that. But I would request you to hold your horses before jumping into a conclusion and call it BS. Whatever I wrote was based upon what I read on books and my personal experiences. I wrote those because I am comfortble on sharing things that I read.  That's it.  Thanks 

I have to agree with Kalikopoi (whatta name) here. If it is merely for pass time and fun, I have no problem with it. Regardless, how much you try to defend astrology giving it a scientific bend, it is all but utter bullshit. Let me give you an example. Our friends here above (respected mind you) defend how astrology is mathematics and relates to heavenly bodies. Do you know how many heavenly bodies are there? 9 planets ?- pluto has already been relegated to merely an exo planet. Again, even if these planets do affect our mood (how funny that sounds!), do you take account of thousands of asteroids, and comets that also circle the Sun and the vast asteroid belt that exists between Mars and Jupiter. What about literally hundreds of moons of these planets? Or millions of stars? Or is it only a matter of convenience. So any thing that you don't see you don't take account into? That must be pure science.

Every day, there are new discoveries occurring in space. We live in an special era that we are able to witness this vast ingenuity of humans exploring the universe and finding things that are way beyond magical and deemed impossible in the past. Let us applaud this! It is amazing that we live in a spect of dust in the vast spectrum of stars in a vast milky way galaxy that itself is a tiny dot among billions of galaxies. When you ponder upon that thought I can only feel astrology all but Con Artistry, just like palmistry, ouiza board.  I agree with Kalikopoi again this defense of Astrology in today's age (along with confidently touting the existence and blaming poor women as "kich kandis")  really does seem like a third world hangover and really does injustice to our education that we've attained. I almost feel shame when people defend these notions!

I dont have to explain how accurate and fast is modern calculator (computer). If its all about calcualtion, why dont we calcualte and tell the future of each person in the world in matter of time? I am a programmer. I can help write application for that.
If astronomical calcualtion could predict the future, why can't we save the life of millions by natural calamities like earthquake and flooding?

If human can see the future, he becomes immortal. He no longer will be a human. That is IMPOSSIBLE.

 पत्याउनु न पत्याउनु व्यक्ति बिशेषको इच्छा र बुझाइ हो . भगवान छ वा छैन भन्ने कुरा मा बिबाद गर्नु भन्दा बिश्वास भए पुज्नु , न भए डस्टर ले पुछ्नु भनेर एउटा कबिता नै टाँसेको थिए कुनै बेला . ज्योतिषी को अन्धविश्वासमा लाग्नु हुन्न  त्यो एउटा कुरा , ज्योतिष  शास्त्र मा पुरै भर परेर  कर्म नगर्नु अर्को कुरा . बिश्वास  गर्नेलाई गर्न दिनुस, त्यो त्यसको खुशी तर ज्योतिष शास्त्रमा बिश्वास गर्ने जम्मै मुर्ख, पटमुर्ख , महामुर्ख हुन् भन्ने भाव जो देखियो त्यसले आफ्नो "अनुहार " र ब्यबहार स्पष्ट देखाउ छ नै . 

I am not sure how a sane thinking mind can fathom the possibility of predicting one's future. Graha and Nachhatra could affect earth's rotation and tidal waves, not your future.
