Initially, when 'becoming a fan' concept started in Facebook and I saw people becoming their own 'fan', I was not very keen on doing something like that for sajha.com ie. asking people to become a fan, because I felt as though there was an element of narcissism looming in the whole act. Fast forward a year or so, and it is becoming evident that Facebook is increasingly becoming an important part of everyone's lives and it holds a lot of potential to spread information. Even in recent days during the 'indefinite bandas', facebook became a tool for bringing together various individuals through their consent or dissent of different aspect of the bandas and life in Nepal. It was amazing how many Facebook groups about Nepal sprouted within a few days timeframe - all of which were formed by individuals who were concerned about the common Nepali person's right to work for a living without political agendas coming in between his/her right to feed him/her self and family. With this in mind, I wanted to start a sajha fan page in Facebook to bring together all concerned individuals who feel feel a sajha love towards Nepal, and feel that the common Nepali has been affected very badly amidst the political battle for supremacy/power. The village Nepali has been affected negatively and similarly the common Nepali living in the city has also been affected negatively. The sajha fan page is about concerned Nepalis who have a vision of a better Nepal. Who support politics that protects the common right of Nepalis and Nepal by not calling forceful Nepal bandas using coercion and force. Every political group aspiring for governance needs to show common respect and courtesy to their common citizens. If any political group does not seem to have respect for the common citizen, how can we expect them to fairly govern the people they are supposed to; provide the people with opportunity they deserve; implement infrastructure for education and further development? The sajha facebook group is not about people who are against any one particular political group. It's about people who support the basic rights for the common sajha people of Nepal. Please join the sajha.com page in facebook. Become part of the concerned group by 'like'ing the page. If nothing else, it will be a social experiment in finding out how many of us are out there who have genuine democratic aspirations for Nepal where politically driven extortion, threat, coercion, force and lies towards a common citizen is not supported.

First of all this is a great idea, but there are some drawbacks that i want to mention too. Like i have the same user name Raju, in both of them and i have been challenged by all sort of people who have tried their guts to expose me and my privacy in the past. So, i am sorry that i can't go for that and i think sajha is best the way it is.

You bet raju161, i agree with you.. Going to FB is exposing yourself and people will know your identity.. Sajha is a public place where we have our own privacy, we share good-bad things, we love, we fight, we pour our anger towards others, we appreciate others works in sajha but i bet that there are lots of people who have some personal issues.I remember before few years one user went into my facebook and posted the picture in sajha and i have to notify admin for that.. SO i think i will also stay away from FB too.. Sorry San...

boulevard dream, that's bad that he brought your picture here in sajha. Ask what one creep threatened me in mail that he is going to find me and beat me up just because i was not ready to walk in their shoe and pursue my own ideology! later when i asked him about his name, he disappeared like a squeezed chicken and these days i hardly find him in sajha. So, these sort of people are everywhere, we need to be careful about our privacy.

, that was a good reply. But, i had some serious issues with some people here in sajha too which might be a good lesson not only to me but for everyone else. That is what i am trying to convey. And by the way your idea of suing McDonald for a black guy robbing you for your last bite of burger still rocks

Alright fellas, raju161 and 8848m, NO more fight please.. Keep your anger in your pocket for a while and save it for some other thread where you guys will start again. I bet you'll need it, hehe.. Guys, all of us have different opinion, our mind is not the same, we have different way of looking at the things... Imagine, if all the creatures in this world use to think in the same way than the world would have been different...
So, let's just express our opinion freely in Sajha. You can fight, curse, do whatever you want to do to eachother but don't take it so personally. Don't do some shit like posting somebody's picture or things like that..Those kinda things will make urself more cheap infront of others.. Peace..
Jay Nepal, Jai Sajha..

After being a member of sajha for a certain amount of time and knowing and liking each others' thought, I don't mind sharing my personal information with other members of sajha. In fact, I have several good friends, I got through Sajha. I was excessively involved in shout box and made lot of friends there. There are always good people and bad people everywhere in the world. But it is our responsibility to chose the good one.
Sajha's page on facebook will definitely help to unite the people who have been sharing thoughts, information, problems etc. As San dai mentioned the role of electronic social network during recent bandh, I believe these electronic social networking like facebook will definitely help to unite the people and work together for social benefit. Besides other advantages that San dai posted above, I hope facebook will be also helpful to increase the traffic of sajha.

"Let us not look back in anger or forward in fear, but around in awareness." ... James Thurbur Thank you to all of you who have taken few moments to join the sajha page in facebook. Few of you have expressed concern over your anonimity in sajha being compromised by your presence in sajha facebook page. As you know sajha and facebook are different entities and there is no connection between the sajha username and facebook username. Hence, your support of the sajha facebook book does not compromise your anonymous presence in sajha. Gaining enough supporters in Facebook to make a difference is a huge task and I need help and support from every one of you so that one day when there is a real need for real people to make real difference, the sajha facebook page can provide the needed mode of communication for Nepalis who have democratic aspirations, who understand and are concerned about the illegality and immorality of any kind of extortion, thread, lies and coercion that a common Nepali may face. If you haven't joined, please take a moment to join. If you have joined already, you can spread the awareness.

Albert Schweitzer: The fundamental rights of [humanity] are, first: the right of habitation; second, the right to move freely; third, the right to the soil and subsoil, and to the use of it; fourth, the right of freedom of labor and of exchange; fifth, the right to justice; sixth, the right to live within a natural national organization; and seventh, the right to education. David Kaczynski: We've got to take back the ideal of justice, we've got to take back this principle of human dignity. We've got to take it back from vengeance, from hatred, we've got to say: look, we're all in this together. We are human beings. Elie Wiesel: This is the duty of our generation as we enter the twenty-first century -- solidarity with the weak, the persecuted, the lonely, the sick, and those in despair. It is expressed by the desire to give a noble and humanizing meaning to a community in which all members will define themselves not by their own identity but by that of others. Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama: A good motivation is what is needed: compassion without dogmatism, without complicated philosophy; just understanding that others are human brothers and sisters and respecting their human rights and dignities. That we humans can help each other is one of our unique human capacities. Thomas Jefferson: The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government. Vaclav Havel: Genuine politics -- even politics worthy of the name -- the only politics I am willing to devote myself to -- is simply a matter of serving those around us: serving the community and serving those who will come after us. Its deepest roots are moral because it is a responsibility expressed through action, to and for the whole.

@Raju161and boule, its totally your fault to put similar name on blogging site like sajha. Nobody ask you to do so. I am member of sajha, and also fan of sajha in facebook but there is no way you can find me. If you want to publishied yourself and be famous through sajha and facebook than of course you will have problems like that. Mine one friends photo was found on mastishare, as she got 1500 friends and some personal photos on same page. @houston_kancho i am sorry for ur friend, but if she has open pictures and walls of course she will got people like that. she can also hide everything from everyone. SAN bro, A man who can run with time can win the time (by me) and now time is for facebook.

Dear americane, no body is perfect in this world, everybody does the mistake and our job is to learn from those mistake buddy.. I dont think you've learnt using computer or opening thread in sajha from the very childhood...In my context, when i was new in sajha, i was not aware about the consequences of happening those kind of things.. So while opening an account, being honest and loyal i put whatever it ask, so thats how i got screwed up by some a&&hole users like you, who don't have any other things to do and spent whole f**ing time in fb or sajha..But since now, i know it, i am not going to put my name of fb or twitter in place like sajha.. I am not a antifacebook person buddy, don't take me wrong.. i love fb too and no doubt it's one of the most emerging social networking site around the globe now but what i am saying is we like our own privacy in sajha. Well if you think that you are too clever to put different name in sajha and fb than it's your choice... May be you spent lot of time using sajha and fb, may be thats why you think you are to clever enough to know about the security stuffs in sajha and fb but sorry buddy i aint got that much time for these stuffs.. So good luck with your PHD degree in sajha and FB. I hope San and Mark Zuckelburg will give you some sort of degree, sicne you know whole lots of things about the security features.. Good Luck.. No offense bro ;-)

Nobody is forcing anyone to join the sajha facebook group. one thing i don't understand is if you value your privacy so much why do u have a facebook account with ten million pictures with no privacy guard turned on? people like boulevard dreams get their identity stolen and yet they try to joke around about how they don't care to learn about privcy controls, you should be given a takma for being the dumbass of the century boulevard dreams. Besides nobody would ever find out who's who just by looking at the sajha facebook group. i guess to each their own. if you dont wanna join stay out of this thread!

Americane, it is because of lowlifes like you i am afraid to bring my identity here in sajha. The only mistake i made was, when i used to surf sajha it was filled with such a great people back then. Certain ideas were there, thinking, discussions and mutual respects so it didn't bothered me to select my user name. Now all of a sudden since past years sajha is gradually occupied by lowlifes morons like you who got nothing, no ideas, no respect, no creativity, filled with apathy who simply makes his whole day at some sort of lowlife activities, pulling others legs, threatening them instead of making a scholarly replies. I have got good image among my friend circle so i don't want it to be ruined by fags like you. That's it, i hope you got it straight. Thanks, Raj

well, i dont know why there needs to be a big fuss about it. if you like to join sajha in facebook then do it, nobody is gonna come after you for not joining the group, so there is no need to come up with different reasons or whatever, if u feel like you are loyal to sajha you will do it anyway. and the good thing about sajha is its diversity , so how can you ppl expect everyone to behave and think in the same way as u do . stop patronizing and this blame game of elites and low lives, please !!!!
