i did my grade one and two in 1981 and 1982. does the school still exist? the classes i had back then was in the old rana kalin building (by the river) with corrugated ceilings. remember buying papad, dal moth, baraf, pau etc during break times as cheap as 10 paisa back then! during moonsoon days, we could see the swollen bagmati river from the class window...sometimes cows and buffalos were seen being swet away and struggling--scary.

1981-82 ma chai haami 9 /10 ma thiyau. Nepal na gaako katti bho? Ahile samma exist chha chhaina bhanera sodheko le. Ahile dherai nai change bhaisakyo tara tyo Rana time ko Paati chai ajhai ustai chha. Naya buildings haru thpro bani sake. Ground ma tile raakheko chha, herdai jhilimili chha ahile.

rahulbhai-been to nepal back and forth several times, but never made a point to revisit the school during my visits. do you remember the english teacher, a lanky man with long nose? i forgot his name, but i was fond of him back then.

Went to Viswa Niketan High school from 2046 to 2050 B.S( grade 6 till grade 10). I am really surprised to see this thread, I have not seen or meet or talked to any of ex-Viswa Niketan students since last 8 yrs or so. This thread made me sign up in sajha forum for the first time. Char jana ta rahechan kamtima. I remember Gamvir Man Sir, Purna Sir, Rajendra Sir, Shiva Sir, Janaki Miss etc. The english teacher you are talking might be Bhupal Sir. I think he used to smoke Gaja because is eyes were red all the time.

I remember Gamvir Man Sir. he is the best. never attend Viswa Niketan school. tara SLC jaach ko belaa Gamvir Man Sir ko maa tution gaako thiye. Mero didi le SLC Viswa Niketan school bata deko. i think batch 2045 or 2046.

I also agree that Gambhir Man Sir is the best. I met him just before I left Kathmandu, he was too dukhi about the condition of Nepal and the nayajamana ka santaan haru. Astu!

I remember one sir , Guru sir he used to teach Samskrit for us . and always he gave punisment to boys . his hobbey is used to be collecting actress postcard in swimsuit. he was slight deef . one guy named as 'Goru' insteed of 'Guru'. that issue made big hamgama in school .

Yes, Jyaapoo, Kamala Miss is still teaching in the school. Happy days, Guru sir died long ago. Most recently, Samita Amatya miss who used to teach Karyalaya Sanchalan, died of blood cancer. I met her at her last days in her residence. It was sad that I came ti USA just attending her 13 din ko prasad grahan.

Do you remeber, Naresh sir ( now head master), Khayarguli sir, Parashu ram sir. I met Urmila miss at the airport, she came there to see off her daughter ( broading to USA). Pradeep sir, Purna Bhadur sir Manju miss, etc. to be remembered, all did everything for the students.

I am really enjoying this thread. I am SLC-43 batch and I know most of the teachers you have mentioned. I respect all the teachers and still remember those funny days. Picnics, games, threatening by the teachers (specially purna Bahadur), pale dai, brother who collects fees ( If I can still remember his name correctly, hmmmm....harka dai), Kohinoor miss, Janaki Miss, Samita miss, Naresh Sir, Pradeep Sir, Parshuram Sir, Khayguli sir, Specially Gambhir Man sir, Manju Miss, ..........who else? I am missing the samosa and chop from the pasal in Tripureshor...... I am missing everything guys.
