There certainly are the manifestations of the concepts you are talking about. You name it, whatever you call it—it is and will be there and as very true as your own shadow can be. We are not just what we think we are. Stop betting in the name of science or 21st century of modern era, because many scientists esp physicists have already come up now with scientific theory on what these energies are. Since the beginning of the common era, we have been through this all together and it's still there. Science can't tell properly why and what are electricity electrons are yet but now physicists do believe that every one of us has field energy—after several researches and experients of course. Anything generating from within us in the form of impulses are likely to be as conductive as free electrons. How?? They don't know but they've come up with this field theory to describe it.  In moderm particle physics, everything is particle and they've their own field. All these atomic structures of our own bodies, at very minute level has an atom and electron and such. The very structure of an atom is such that it resembles with our solar system. Nucleas being the central source of an atom and surrounding it being it's own field.(someone has said there is universe within us, that's true, look at our chemical and atomic composition). This very atoms at atomic level don't want to crash and try to stay in it's intact structure. That's how our atoms behave<Except if we forcibly collide atoms through collider to find that god particle, lol, ;))>. Now, lets take a look at your own body, say you are walking on the street and you try to prevent unwanted collison or any obstacles. We are trying to save ourselves from harms way but the very inner working of that emotion being triggered is from that very 'minute' atomic behaviour. I'm not making this story up, but some physicists have defined it in describing our field energy. My whole point is every one of us field energy and it's very conductive. That unseen field friction causes all this.

Now, say your thoughts and mind and any impulses generating out of it, has already been measured and they're just as real as anything physical. The only difference is we can't see/feel/notice them most of the time. But we know it's there. We don't know what it's capable of.

Say if you think of doing harm to someone and just alone thinking could do that, how would you feel? Say if you think of good for someone and just alone thinking could do that, how would you feel?(I'm into collective meditation and this coming May 5, 8:30 PST I'm on it sending positive energy and there will be thousands and thousands of us—lightbeings from all around the world at that moment) Well, that's happening and it's very real. Remember the field energy that every one of us has and it's every conductive. Now, you've to believe that the extent of field energy is also varying in nature.

And our mind is another aspect of our reality and it's the most powerful medium of our experiences. It also gives us an idea on what it's true potential is and can it do. You may not be aware of it(Because you are so busy with your own world). It can create whatever you imagine and think of at metaphysical world. I call it pure form energy world where just our consciousness dwells and it can create anything unlike physical world where we are limited to our five sensories Now, if we are to believe that field energy, and if this evil intentioned person is amplifying his/her field energy wishing for harm on someone, I'm sorry to say, it can very much happen. (Remember, when you are conversing, the voice you hear from another person is not just a voice, it's a sound energy that traversed through the medium we call air but there are thousands of electrons alone in the air molecules that made it possible and since you've the receptive ear drums that signalled your brain and you HEARD those words or voice. Offroad, artificially generated energy has brought so much conveniences to our day to day life such as our very cell phones, electricity generators, etc.)

Personally, if you feed your consciousness with the awareness of this very minute details of everyday thing happening which in my opinion is only possible through silencing your brain's thought activities, you can truly overcome any fear within. You really have to practice it, and try to see universe within you. Just that thought alone can get rid of all the "concepts" we've been carrying since the childhood. It also cleanses the dark energy field within you. Those are the receptors(like ear drum I mentioned above) for dark impulses. The moment that happens, receptor for positive energy expands. Believe it or not, any such amplified dark energy(which we call SPELL) targeted towards you would have no effect or very minimal effect which get cleansed easily after all.

I personally practice in sending positive energy to everyone on daily basis. I'm spiritual and I practice shamanism. Our science itself is evolving. I would very much like to urge you all , once again, as I've been doing in my previous posts , try to know your innerself. I know we all are busy with our day to day activities, I'm not discouraging it, we need fuel to run our vehicles but just not forget who you really are at the same time. The problem is we forget ourselves, and we live like we are immortals. Makes me chuckle when I see ppl fighting over insignificant matters. Anyway, be positive , think positive and whatever you think it becomes reality. I'm not writing some sweet quote off the internet but it's implications are veryyyyyy real. THINK , THINK , THINK POSITIVE, you'll be amazed to experience it becoming a reality.

Transience is the truth, permanence is the illusion. Nothing real can be threatened. Your life consists of an uncertain duration and only the time it takes will define it it. You see a threat in time but the divisions of time are mental abstractions.

@fantush, those knowledges are real but one who is not awakened or don't have any spiritual perspectives to look at life that material or knowledge if they try to learn and practice, it is very possible that their restricted narrow mind which simply can not accept anything can actually lead to the disrupted neorons of their brain, (when something is too much it's not good right??) likely turning them into dysfunctional brain(mad).

Dhami,

Have you noticed and read news, how such notion of witchcraft and "bokshi" laune is perpetuated on widows, poor, dalits, and the helpless? Ever heard of a rich and a powerful wife/woman being labeled a witch in Ktm? haha! In most cases, she might evoke goddess instead. It is surprising that we cannot stand together in the 21st century against such social evils. The burning of a Madi woman recently comes to mind.

But what can you do? When you have self-proclaimed intellectuals, enlightened-all knowing educated folks who come and support these notions, distorting science, psychology, and nature to self-fulfill their highbrow amusment. It is simply laughable.

I am not apalled at people believing in what they want to believe. That is their personal choice. The bigger question is why can't we have basic tenets of reasoning, analysis, and critical thinking to empower ourselves. Why do we have to depend on others, who are equally confused, to provide those answers for us?

Here's a food for thought: "Something that can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence." - Hitchens

I didn't encourage evil rituals and sacrifices. I wholeheartedly denounce that as well. However I did encourage the self-healing and self-protection spiritually to create fearless 'YOU'. My acknowledgment to my spirituality doesn't back some of those rituals which are the results of their adamancy of what they know.

Exorcism and possession are real and soul with weakened freewill get the attention. It's not a neuro-disorder. That's two drivers trying to drive a car. If you don't believe it, I don't really need to prove it but when you know about it, it would have been too late. It's just a matter of one lifetime, it not now then may be next lifetime. Right now we're engulfed in this vicious cycle of lifetime after lifetime learning. I strongly feel from within that it's time for ascension. You need to keep your eyes open everywhere to every possibility.

Buddha is a highly enlightened spiritual light being.

His intellect and yogic control enabled him to overcome the temptations of illusion and evil, personified as the demon Mara.

I'm just following his footstep in non-religious manner.
I don't have to defend what I chose and you don't have to suppress what you haven't.

Let there be light, let there be no ego.

Belief polls

While the validity of the existence of paranormal phenomena is controversial and debated passionately by both proponents of the paranormal and by skeptics, surveys are useful in determining the beliefs of people in regards to paranormal phenomena. These opinions, while not constituting scientific evidence for or against, may give an indication of the mindset of a certain portion of the population (at least among those who answered the polls).

One survey of the beliefs of the general United States population regarding paranormal topics was conducted by the Gallup Organization in 2005.[28] The survey found that 73 percent of those polled believed in at least one of the ten paranormal items presented in the survey. The ten items included in the survey were: extrasensory perception (41% held this belief), haunted houses (37%), ghosts (32%), telepathy (31%), clairvoyance (26%), astrology (25%), communication with the dead (21%), witches (21%), reincarnation (20%), and channeling spiritual entities (9%). These items were selected as they "require the belief that humans have more than the 'normal' five senses." Only one percent of respondents believed in all ten items.

Another survey conducted in 2006 by researchers from Australia's Monash University[29] sought to determine what types of phenomena that people claim to have experienced and the effects these experiences have had on their lives. The study was conducted as an online survey with over 2,000 respondents from around the world participating. The results revealed that around 70% of the respondents believe to have had an unexplained paranormal event that changed their life, mostly in a positive way. About 70% also claimed to have seen, heard, or been touched by an animal or person that they knew was not there; 80% have reported having a premonition, and almost 50% stated they recalled a previous life.[29]

Polls were conducted by Bryan Farha at Oklahoma City University and Gary Steward of the University of Central Oklahoma in 2006, and compared to the results of a Gallup poll in 2001.[30] They found fairly consistent results.

Percentage of US citizens polled
belief not sure belief not sure
  Farha-Steward Gallup
psychic/spiritual healing 56 26 54 19
ESP 28 39 50 20
haunted houses 40 25 42 16
demonic possession 40 28 41 16
ghosts/spirits of the dead 39 27 38 17
telepathy 24 34 36 26
extraterrestrials visited Earth in the past 17 34 33 27
clairvoyance and prophecy 24 33 32 23
communication with the dead 16 29 28 26
astrology 17 26 28 18
witches 26 19 26 15
reincarnation 15 28 25 20
channeling 10 29 15 21

Other surveys by different organizations at different times have found very similar results. A 2001 Gallup Poll found that the general public embraced the following: 54% of people believed in psychic/spiritual healing, 42% believed in haunted houses, 41% believed in satanic possession, 36% in telepathy, 25% in reincarnation, and 15% in channeling.[31] A survey by Jeffrey S. Levin, associate professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk found that over 2/3 of the U.S. population reported having at least one mystical experience.[30][32]

A 1996 Gallup poll estimated that 71% of the people in the United States believed that the government was covering up information about UFOs. A 2002 Roper poll conducted for the Sci Fi channel reported that 56% thought UFOs were real craft and 48% that aliens had visited the Earth.[30]

A 2001 National Science Foundation survey found that 9 percent of people polled thought astrology was very scientific, and 31 percent thought it was somewhat scientific. About 32% of Americans surveyed stated that some numbers were lucky, while 46% of Europeans agreed with that claim. About 60% of all people polled believed in some form of Extra-sensory perception and 30% thought that "some of the unidentified flying objects that have been reported are really space vehicles from other civilizations."[33]

Paranormal challenges

In 1922, Scientific American offered two US $2,500 offers: (1) for the first authentic spirit photograph made under test conditions, and (2) for the first psychic to produce a "visible psychic manifestation." Harry Houdini was a member of the investigating committee. The first medium to be tested was George Valiantine, who claimed that in his presence spirits would speak through a trumpet that floated around a darkened room. For the test, Valiantine was placed in a room, the lights were extinguished, but unbeknownst to him his chair had been rigged to light a signal in an adjoining room if he ever left his seat. Because the light signals were tripped during his performance, Valiantine did not collect the award.[34] The last to be examined by Scientific American was Mina Crandon in 1924.

Since then, many individuals and groups have offered similar monetary awards for proof of the paranormal in an observed setting. These prizes have a combined value of over $2.4 million dollars.[35]

The James Randi Educational Foundation offers a prize of a million dollars to a person who can prove that they have supernatural or paranormal abilities under appropriate test conditions. No famous psychic has gone through with taking the challenge. Several other skeptic groups also offer a monied prize for proof of the paranormal, including the largest group of paranormal investigators the Independent Investigations Group which has chapters in Hollywood, Atlanta, Denver, Washington D.C., Alberta, B.C. and San Francisco. The IIG offers a $50,000 prize and a $5,000 finders fee if a claimant can prove a paranormal claim under 2 scientifically controlled tests. Founded in 2000 no claimant has passed the first (and lower odds) of the test.

@bittertruth ,well i don't want to argue with skeptics either as that's their choice as long as they encounter  themselves  .But I agree what you trying to say and  your saying of "You need to keep your eyes open everywhere to every possibility".
