Hello friends,
Does anyone here in Sajha know the whereabouts of Pankaj Bhattarai? His father is really really sick (been at the hospital for quite a few days now) and his family members have lost contact with him. He is thought to be in California now. If anyone knows where he is now or can reach him then it would be really helpful if you could tell him to contact any one of his family members. Thank you all for your help.

I see someone w/that name in San Francisco bay area thru a linkedin search. You can send a linkedin invite with the message included, which should get to his email.

Alternatively, a quick Facebook search might bring in some clue. I'd try the LinkedIn way first though.
Good Luck!

Boulevard Dreams, yes, he is from Paknajol, Ktm. Have you seen him or met him recently?
I don't think he has a facebook or linkedin profile. I have tried looking for him at all of the sites but cannot find him anywhere. Again, if anyone has met him recently and if you come across this post please tell him to contact home. His parents really need to talk to him. Also, if anyone has his number it would be really helpful if you could email it to me. Would be a great favor.
Thank you guys for taking the time to reply.

Thanks a lot man. I know he was in California last time anyone of his family members talked to him. Everyone back home is really worried and it would really mean a lot to his parents and family members if anyone of your friends could deliver the message to him. Thanks again!

I know some Nepalis who become desensitized as far as family and anything to do with being a Nepali after they come to the US. It's like their brain catches some kind of frequency and they become insensitive to their past and emotions.
How can one be so ruthless as to sever ties to their families for no reasons after they come to the US?

"How can one be so ruthless as to sever ties to their families for no reasons after they come to the US?"
It is the result of moral-less education, greedy people and the society that values success only in monetary values and expensive tadakbhadak.
Many people in US have inferior complexity. They fear of being a role model of "failure" in life because they don't earn there as much as their families back home expect or feel proud of. That might have caused a kind of mental torture on them when they keep on touch regularly. The better way to avoid this torture is to cut off communication.
My friend has a son in USA since last 10 years. He wants his son come back with 3-4 laakh dollar and live princly life in Nepal. That is too much expectation. It is not possible to save 3-4 laakh dollar in 10 years in USA no matter how hard one works. His son went USA as a student, spent 2+5 years in study (masters + doctorate), came back to marry, took his wife to USA (wife not working there), working in postdoc position and raising a small kid. Probably he may have 1 laakh dollar saving, which is 70 lakh here in Nepal, not enough to buy a thikkako home + car. If I would be his son, how could I face his expectation?
