If someone gets fired while in H1 status, he/she will have 3 months of grace period but recently I heard that they changed it to 10 days, as they have been applying these new rules to OPT. Anyone have any idea??? Kaas kura ke ho?

If they fire you  while you are in H1B you will have to leave US immediately. You will be considered out-of-status. But, you can file to change your status within 10 days.

fired from who?

employer A-->your consultancy/employer who filed your H1 and from whom you get pay check

employer B-->your current client whom your work but they will pay to emp A

Case 1:

if you are fired from emp B.........then no need to worry..........it happens all the time........go back to bench and attend interview for another client.

Case 2:

if you are fired from emp A.............then .........according to law "you must leave the country as soon as possible" ...........there is no grace period defined (unlike student have 60 days grace period after OPT)..........seek attorney immediately.........they might do something................usually.........if you think you might get fired ..........then you should be opt to change the employer asap............
