DEar DV winner, Let us talk something here. 1. First ,DV winner may not have known that the principal applicant too will be disqualified when they add up people ( spouse, child ) in the second letter. If they had known this fact and applied, that's their foolishness but nothing. 2. Secondly, there are people who don't know this reality and applies and want their money back. That's their stupidity because it has been stated that the DV fee ($775) is not refundable. I know $ 775 is huge money, but people played the risky game and lost money. 3. The final truth" THE Department of state DV lottery act clearly explains that the post are required to file the case for the family, if the winner has gotten the spouse of children subsequently after filing the original DV application. But the reality is that nepalese people got the advantage of making money by winning the lottery. The winner started adding the people like spouse or children by taking huge sum of money. The winner started their business which is clearly the violation of US DOS acts and a crime too. Therefore, US embassy in nepal stopped issuing visa even to the principal applicant if he/she added person name in the second letter( DS 230) DSP 122 I know USA has given us this much tremendous opportunity to all of us nepalese, it does not mean that we exploit them. US is already too much generous to us. They can't do more than what they have already provided. We should appreciate US government and their people for whatever they have given us Jayamatadi

I disagree with you . It all depends upon the number of visa available. So, your 2nd point is right though, but at that stage of the game you generally get an idea of if you will get the visa or not. So, I guess you are tying to scare the winners by saying these things, or probably you have won DV lottery with case number at the end,and you are less likely to get the visa if people before you put in their families. Remember , the number of visa available is fixed!!!

Neither i am the visa winner nor some agent soliciting people to contact me. I am just a social worker trying to help people. I disagree with you drifting clouds. Visa number is the second step after your application is received by consular. They allot priority date for visa number every month so that case number within that number could be issued visa. There is not point of visa number unless your application has been accepted by counsular. Even if the counsular accept your application, they need to wait for the visa number available for that particular month. cheers dude

At some point people need to be informed. Look at the current visa bulletin for example (points B and C). This bulletin shows the DV allocation for current month and projected for next month. That's the quota and number game. Winning a DV lottery is no way a guarantee to get immigration visa to US no matter how many letters you have received until you get through the consular interview and final number counts. http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_3219.html

Hey people! Why are you so much concerned about DV lottery. Dont rely on your luck. If you want green card in US, then just do your master from US, complete your PHD soon and file for green card. So easy steps.

ya i have seen one guy's dv letter and there it was clearly mentioned that the selection in dv lottery doesn't gurantee that s/he will be granted visa and if you want to apply for visa go with these process or information on how to setup visa interview etc etc.......so....i didn't see that there was any misleading information regarding visa. i don't know if they send letter differently for diffferent people... but in the letter i saw it was clearly mentioned applicant might be rejected by consular....etc...

I am not sure of what they do now. Couple of years ago, there used to be 50 thousand visas worldwide for a given DV year. So, people with case numbers of 10,000 and lesser were likely to get visa, provided they meet other requirements for the immigration visa.

People will not only think of how you write but think what kind of sanskar your family has given you..... i am so sorry for you mitra. I know your purkherli from sudur paschim who are conidered the best in maintaining the tradition and culture of our country and you are so paranoid and borderline... don't hurt yourself because you are hurting the people behind you too........ pity on you man
