Indian hegemony
Kathmandu, 6 June: No odd, it is a tradition for the political leaders visiting India immediately after assuming office of the Prime Minister. So, following the same tradition PM Girija Prasad Koirala has left for a goodwill visit to India at the invitation of Indian PM Manmohan Singh, writes Charcha weekly in its editorial.

Nepal enjoys special relations with India but the bitterness between the Nepalese people and the government of India is increasing progressively since India invaded Nepalese soil in various parts by forcefully ousting the Nepalese people from their own motherland. India took the advantage of Nepal’s fragile situation and encroached the Nepalese soil.

The Nepalese government however seems indifferent towards the Indian attack over the Nepalese sovereignty and integrity. The government has initiated no action to control the Indians from invading the Nepalese soil.

If the present government of Nepal wants to prove that it is committed towards the general people then PM GP Koirala must pressure the Indian government to retreat its people from the Nepalese land and also break those water dams that submerge the Nepalese lands. If PM Koirala is unable to raise the issue in front of the Indian government then his visit of India would be worthless.

"If PM Koirala is unable to raise the issue in front of the Indian government then his visit of India would be worthless. "

That's a good one because the supreme irony of that statment is no one, including India, would even listen to the previous government.

What will make Koirala's visit worthwhile, in my opinion, is if he can get the Indian government to open up their wallets and thus re-invigorate the Nepalese economy. If he can't get this from them, then I would agree his visit would have been worthless.

Says who? And how?

Our economy badly needs investments at this time and the government is doing what it can to get it. What exactly do you propose they do instead?

even after Jan andolan 2 foreign powers are trying to control damage and reconcile palace and congress. but all this is futile.

one of the foolish things maoist did is ---------------- it never changed its demand.

the current grand design in delhi.... clearly shows that the country cannot go into constituent assembly peacefully ..... but it will go into republican setup DIRECTLY .................may be with some final violent uprising..................the Janandolan III.

the demand of CA is outdated now. soon paras will declare he is the champion of CA.
It is the same thing UML calling itself as communist.
DHOKA......

hulak bro.
