why not applyfor a F1 visa directly from Nepal... is it hard to get a visa for Masters ??? it may be hard to adjust status from Tourist to F1.. it shouldnt matter which university u attend.

It is possible to transfer a tourist visa to F1(Student). Go online and find universities in US. Send them email asking if they can or can not. You need to have plenty of time in your tourist visa, because process may take 3/4 months.

It is very hard to convert these days. If you have "Prospective student" in your tourist than only it is possble, otherwise don't screwed up on changing status. Apply to school and after getting I-20 go back to nepal & get visa.. this is the easy process. Even if you change your status here in F-1 you need to get visa if you go back home for vacation. So, why not to go right now and get F-1 visa from Nepal. It would be vey easy to get F1 from nepal for Master's student.

HI, WE WERE SUCCESSFUL IN CHANGING A B-1 TO F-1 IN MARCH. THE PERSON CAME HERE IN FEBRUARY THIRD WEEK 2006 WITH 1 MONTH STAMP AS B1/B2 IN MARCH FIRST WEEK WE APPLIED FOR CHANGE OF STATUS IN FIRST WEEK OF APRIL, WE RECIEVED AN APPROVAL. The school we choose was a law school, A PRIVATE UNIVERSITY, remember it !!! They will be more helpful than state run or semi gov. Next, documentation is important. the cover letter should be clear on why issue? you have to show evidence that circumstances have changed since you were here and the field of study you chose is a subject of your own field the school will issue an I-20 first as a perspective student, based on the financial document you can provide. request the school for scholarship too, as this will justify your case better. GOOD LUCK any questions.....you can always get back to me at LAWNEPAL www.santosgere.wordpress.com

I dont charge for that because i am not a lawyer yet. Once i become a lawyer next year after i pass the bar, hmm.......... afno nepali daju bhai didi bahini haru ko lagi ....jati bhaye pani bhai halchhaa ni hoinaaa......? LETS GET SERIOUS: The cost of the process would be: Form I-485- submission fee to USCIS $325 Sevis registration (in your school) $100 Support letter and Evidences: $00.00 Contact me and we will discuss YOU MUST FILE CHANGE OF STATUS BEFORE THE VISA EXPIRY.
